Our Story

Iron Horse Therapeutic Farm has been a long-term dream of owner Taneal Behm & her family. When she was younger, Taneal's grandmother gave her the poem "Iron Horse" by Tina Cocker Bastien. After reading this poem, the dream of creating a facility where those of different abilities could experience life from the back of a horse was born.

Today, Iron Horse Therapeutic Farm serves as the non-profit sister company of Integrated Pediatric Therapy Associates, located in Windsor & Greeley, Colorado. Together, these two companies strive to provide comprehensive, creative and quality therapy services to the special needs population of northern Colorado.

Our History

2013

Founder Taneal Behm starts NoCo Pediatric OT, providing home health and equine movement occupational therapies with her horse, Cookies.

2017

Taneal opens Integrated Pediatric Therapy Associates to provide comprehensive, multi-disciplinary services to the NoCo community.

2017

IPTA hosts the First Annual Adaptive Egg Hunt to provide our NoCo community with seasonal, family-oriented & accessible events.

2018

IPTA hosts the First Annual Fall Fest to continue to provide our NoCo community with seasonal and engagement accessible events.

2020

The Iron Horse property is purchased to open as an additional site rented by IPTA.

2021

IPTA & Iron Horse Therapeutic Farm partnered with Larimer County Fair to start the Sensory Day at the Fair, a sensory-friendly day for the special needs community of NoCo.

2024

Our initial non-profit, Integrated Cares, is renamed to Iron Horse Therapeutic Farm.

2025

Our first annual Buckaroo Rodeo successfully highlighted 28 participants and their farm-based/equine movement skills acquired in therapy sessions, creating an ongoing annual fundraiser.
